The difference between boiler tube and seamless steel pipe production process
1. Material selection: The selection of boiler tubes should consider its working environment and use requirements to ensure that the material has sufficient strength, toughness, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.
2. Forming: Similar to seamless steel pipes, boiler tubes can also be formed by hot rolling, cold drawing, extrusion and other methods. However, the boiler tube has higher requirements for dimensional accuracy and surface quality, so the parameters should be strictly controlled during the molding process.
3. Welding (for welded boiler tube) ** : Welding boiler tube in the production process needs to be welded, welding quality directly affects the use of boiler tube effect and safety. Common welding methods include manual arc welding, submerged arc welding, TIG welding, etc. It is necessary to choose the appropriate welding materials and processes to ensure the quality of welding seams.
4. Heat treatment: The same as seamless steel pipes, boiler tubes also need to be heat treated to eliminate residual stress and improve mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
5. Testing and surface treatment: Boiler tubes need to undergo strict appearance testing, size testing, mechanical properties testing and metallographic structure testing to ensure product quality. At the same time, it is also necessary to carry out surface treatment to remove impurities such as oil and rust on the surface, improve corrosion resistance and service life.
