Xinjiang Jiqing Oilfield’s shale oil production reaches 2,800 tons per day
China's first national-level continental shale oil demonstration area, the Jiqing Oilfield Operation Area, produced 215,000 tons of shale oil in the first quarter. The current daily shale oil production reaches 2,800 tons, both reaching record highs.
Since January this year, 53 new wells have been drilled in the Jiqing Oilfield operating area of Xinjiang Oilfield, with a total drilling footage of 280,000 meters. At present, 40 drilling operations have been completed, with an average completion cycle of 34 days, and drilling efficiency increased by 5% compared with the same period last year.

According to the plan, the Jiqing Oilfield operating area will complete 100 drilling wells and 110 fracturing wells this year. The scale of construction production capacity will reach the highest level in history. In 2025, the annual shale oil production will reach 1.4 million tons.
Xinjiang is rich in shale oil resources, mainly distributed in the three depressions of Jimusar, Mahu, Wucaiwan-Shishugou, with total resources exceeding 3 billion tons. It has broad exploration and development prospects and huge development potential.
