The production of boiler tubes mainly goes through the following steps: material selection, forming, welding, heat treatment, testing and surface treatment.

 

1.Selection of materials

The selection of boiler tube materials is the first step in production and a very critical step. High-quality raw materials ensure the quality and performance of boiler tubes. Usually, boiler tubes are made of seamless steel pipes or welded steel pipes, mostly made of carbon steel, alloy steel, etc. When selecting materials, factors such as the boiler's working pressure, temperature, medium, etc. need to be considered to ensure that the selected materials can meet the usage requirements.

 

2. Forming

Forming is the second step in boiler tube production. The main forming methods include hot rolling, cold drawing, extrusion, etc. Among them, hot rolling is the most commonly used forming method. It heats the steel pipe to a certain temperature and then uses a rolling mill to roll the steel pipe to the required shape and size.

 

3.Welding

For welded steel pipes, welding is an important step in the production process. The quality of welding directly affects the use effect and safety of boiler tubes. Common welding methods include manual arc welding, submerged arc welding, TIG welding, etc. During the welding process, it is necessary to select appropriate welding materials and welding processes to ensure the quality of the weld.

 

4.Heat treatment

 

Heat treatment is an important part of the boiler tube production process. Through heat treatment, the residual stress inside the steel pipe can be eliminated and the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the steel pipe can be improved. Common heat treatment methods include normalizing, annealing, quenching, etc.

 

5.Detection

Inspection is a key link to ensure the quality of boiler tubes. During the production process, steel pipes need to be strictly inspected, including appearance inspection, dimensional inspection, mechanical property inspection, metallographic structure inspection, etc. Only steel pipes that pass the inspection can leave the factory.

 

6.Surface treatment

Surface treatment is the final step in boiler tube production. Through surface treatment, impurities such as oil and rust on the surface of the steel pipe can be removed, thereby improving the corrosion resistance and service life of the steel pipe. Common surface treatment methods include sandblasting, pickling, passivation, etc.
