Production process of small diameter seamless steel pipe
1. Raw material preparation
The raw materials for the production of small-diameter seamless steel pipes are mainly steel ingots or billets. Before production, quality inspection and acceptance of raw materials should be carried out to ensure that the quality of raw materials meets the requirements. At the same time, steel ingots or billets of various specifications should be prepared according to production needs.
2. Heating and rolling
The prepared raw materials are heated to soften the steel ingot or billet to facilitate the subsequent rolling process. The heating temperature and heating time need to be determined according to the specific production process and raw material specifications. The heat-treated steel ingot or billet is rolled through a rolling mill to form a tube blank. During the rolling process, it is necessary to pay attention to controlling parameters such as rolling temperature, rolling speed and rolling pressure to ensure the quality and dimensional accuracy of the tube blank.
3. Perforation and diameter reduction
The rolled tube blank needs to be perforated and reduced in diameter to form a small diameter seamless steel pipe. Perforation is to perforate one end of the tube blank to form an open end; diameter reduction is to process the tube blank into the required small diameter seamless steel pipe by reducing the diameter of the tube blank. During this process, attention needs to be paid to controlling parameters such as temperature, speed, and pressure for perforation and diameter reduction to ensure the quality and dimensional accuracy of the steel pipe.
