What is precision steel pipe?
Precision tubes are carbon steel, alloy steel or stainless steel tubes with high dimensional accuracy. Usually made by hot rolling or cold drawing (cold rolling) process. Therefore, precision tube is a kind of seamless tube.
It has the following advantages:
There is no oxide scale on the inner and outer surfaces;
High pressure resistance, no leakage;
Small tolerance;
Smooth surface;
No deformation during cold bending, no cracks in flaring test and flattening test.
Due to these advantages, it is widely used in manufacturing pneumatic parts and hydraulic components.
The international standard for precision tubes is DIN 2391, which is consistent with European standards.
In fact, more steel pipe standards can be applied to precision pipes. Including DIN2445, EN10305, DIN1630, DIN1629, ASTM A106, ASTM A179, JIS G3445
Available materials are 10#, 20#, 35, 45, 40Cr, 25Mn, 37Mn5, St35(E235), St37.4, St45(E255), St52(E355), etc.
The outer diameter tolerance of hot-rolled precision steel pipe is +/- 0.1%. Cold drawn
The allowable tolerance range of precision steel pipes is as follows:
Diameter 6mm to 10mm, normal tolerance range +/- 0.2%, high quality tolerance range +/- 0.15%. 10mm
to 30mm, normal tolerance range +/- 0.4%, premium tolerance range +/- 0.2%. 30mm
to 50mm, normal tolerance range +/- 0.45%, premium tolerance range +/- 0.3%.
For outer diameter above 50mm, the normal tolerance range is +/- 0.1%, and the high-quality tolerance range is +/- 0.8%.
