Vacuum insulated Tubing (VIT) has been historically proven successful in providing down hole temperature management in a number of applications including reduction of annular pressure buildup, hydrates and paraffin issues. As thermal projects in the oil sand continue to develop at a rapid pace, it follows naturally that VIT be utilized to optimize  the completion integrity and thermal efficiency of the well-bore system both during steam injection and production. 

WHY VIT

Deliver high quality steam to oil producing zone and increase efficiency of stem injection

VIT Provides a significant improvement in heat transfer efficiency of a concentric completion during circulation. This reduces the amount of steam injection required to achieve the same amount of heat transfer as completion without VIT

Limit wellbore heat loss.

VIT improves insulation in the vertical section of the wellbore during circulation reducing the amount of heat transfer to the return fluid stream and production casing. As a result concerns of thermal expansion and integrity are also reduced.

Prevent overheat damages of casing and casing connections & minimize casing deformation and reduce cement cracking.

VIT APPLICATION

1. For marine oil field

VIT has being used for marine field in order to reduce heat loss in string of sea water part and air part

2. For heavy oil

VIT has being used widely for enhanced oil recovery(EOR) the production of heavy oil

3. For oil sands

VIT reduces heat loss in steam assisted gravity drainage(SAGD)operation for oil sands.

4. Geothermal well & hot spring

VIT used for geothermal well and hot spring to transfer hot water.
